World Crafts Forum 2026

Kuwait hosted the World Crafts Forum 2026 following its designation as a World Craft City for AlSadu weaving under the World Crafts Council global programme in 2025. This recognition reflected Kuwait’s commitment to safeguarding living heritage and advancing crafts within the creative economy.

The Forum was organized through close collaboration between AlSadu Society, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, and the World Crafts Council, with UNESCO as a knowledge partner and Kuwait Oil Company as a key supporter.

Inspired by AlSadu weaving, the Forum’s identity reflected the interweaving of tradition and innovation, positioning Kuwait as a platform for cultural exchange and international collaboration.

The Forum comprised three main components:

CRAFT Dialogues & Policy Conversations
High-level discussions addressing crafts, sustainability, and the creative economy.

International Craft Market
A public platform showcasing regional and international artisans.

Workshops & Masterclasses
Hands-on sessions supporting skill-sharing and knowledge exchange.
