EXHIBITIONS

Ragoum

The Ragoum Exhibition by the AlSadu Society is a notable event that focuses on the preservation and promotion of traditional Sadu weaving, specifically the Ragoum motif, which is a significant element in Kuwaiti textile heritage. The exhibition is the culmination of a ``Train the Trainers`` program, where specialized workshops were conducted for teachers from the Department of Arts Education. The Ragoum Exhibition showcases artworks created by students as part of an educational program led by the AlSadu Society.

The Ragoum Exhibition aims to preserve and promote the traditional craft of Sadu weaving, ensuring that the techniques and cultural significance of this art form are passed on to younger generations. By involving students and teachers in the creation of artworks and the learning of traditional techniques, the exhibition fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of Kuwaiti cultural heritage.

The UNESCO recognition highlights the importance of the Ragoum Exhibition in the global context, promoting Kuwait’s cultural heritage on an international stage. In 2022, UNESCO registered this initiative under “File for Good Safeguarding Practices of Intangible Cultural heritage.
