The aim of the forthcoming exhibition of these remarkable tapestries is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the celebrated “experiment increativity”, to demonstrate the progress of the weavers during the twenty years since the 1985/86 UK touring exhibition and to introduce the philosophy and the tapestries to a new generation in Britain.
The display will consist of masterpieces from the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Centre’s permanent coIlection together with new wooI andcotton weavings and batiks. Two weavers will set up their looms in the gallery to demonstrate their art.
