
EXPERTISE
The Insij Program targets individuals with a general interest in arts and handicrafts and those interested in traditional weaving methods in particular, offered to people aged 18 years and over.
COURSE LEVELS
Level One
Learning Flat Weave
Learning Dhalla Pattern
After completion of the course the student will be able to do the following:
- Warping: stretching the yarn for the specific pattern.
- Preparing the loom and attaching the heddles.
- Weave the flat weave and the Dhalla pattern.
- Produce two woven pieces with the mentioned patterns.
Level Two
Hubub pattern
Aein pattern
After completion of the course the student will be able to do the following:
- Warping: stretching the yarn for the specific pattern.
- Preparing the loom and attaching the heddles.
- Weave the Hubub pattern and the Aein pattern.
- Produce two woven pieces with the mentioned patterns
Requirements: Completing Level 1
Level Three
Dhurus El-Khail pattern
Ragoum technique and pattern
After completion of the course the student will be able to do the following:
- Warping: stretching the yarn for the specific pattern.
- Preparing the loom and attaching the heddles.
- Weave the Dhurus El-Khail pattern and the Ragoum pattern.
- Produce two woven pieces with the mentioned patterns.
Requirements: Completing Level 2
Level Four
Midhkhar pattern
Uwairjan pattern
After completion of the course the student will be able to do the following:
- Warping: stretching the yarn for the specific pattern.
- Preparing the loom and attaching the heddles.
- Weave the Midkhar and the Uwairjan pattern.
- Produce two woven pieces with the mentioned patterns.
Requirements: Completing Level 3
Level Five
Shajarah pattern
After completion of the course the student will be able to do the following:
- Warping: stretching the yarn for the specific pattern.
- Preparing the loom and attaching the heddles.
- Weave the Shajarah pattern.
- Produce one woven piece with the Shajarah patterns.
Requirements: Completing Level 4
