Shareefa Abu Shalfa, a dedicated weaver, joined AlSadu in 2023. Her journey began with the “Sadu Above the Clouds” workshop, encouraged by her two daughters who recognised her emotional connection to Sadu, a craft rooted in cherished memories of her grandmother.

Shareefa further honoured her skills by enrolling in the Insij program, completing all five levels with distinction. She has since participated in several remarkable local and international events. She won first place in Insij competition in May 2024 while attending level four of the program. She also participated in the celebration of 125 years of Kuwaiti British relations at the Embassy of Kuwait in London, September 2024, under the theme “Bayt Al Sha’ar: A Traveling Cultural Space.” Exhibited her Sadu piece at Yale University in October 2024, upon invitation from Kuwaiti Students. Additionally, she represented Kuwait and Sadu House at the In Praise of the Artisans exhibition, contributing to an interactive display highlighting the traditional Ragoum pattern. Furthermore, she was a key speaker at the launch of SOOF Mill in January 2025, where she shared insights about Bedouin life and the cultural significance of sheep in traditional crafts.
