A ‘Forest of Shapes’ Book by Ali Al Yousefi

Ali Al Yousefi was one of our participating artists in the SADI 2022 program. He produced this book alongside his artwork which explored shapes alternating between geometric motifs and simple icons. The patterns and motifs are composed of pixel shapes to create the artworks . the idea of this book is that is plays on the idea that every shape in Sadu weaving is potentially meaningful and therefore needs to be ‘read’.
